Trans

“Trans” is short for “transgender.”  It refers to people whose biological sex — based on the sex organs they were born with — conflicts with their gender identity — their innermost feelings about being female or male. Trans teens may strongly identify with the other gender, or with no single gender. If you’re a trans teen, you may face some difficult issues — including dealing with transphobia, finding support, and getting appropriate health care.
